What is Police Clearance Certificate?
Police Clearance Certificate plays an important role in passport and visa approval procedure. Each nation has its own police clearance procedure. Generally, the fingerprints are collected on a specimen card and sent to the concerned country for further verification.

Typically, these fingerprints are registered on a special card, i. e. FD-258, FD-1164, SAPS 91(a), C-216C, etc fingerprint cards. These cards, then are submitted to the particular country’s law enforcement agency. Then a check is conducted on these fingerprints through automated fingerprint systems.

Steps to obtain PCC for various countries:
1. USA (FBI)
Step 1:
Fill the application form with the details. Application form can be filled at https://www.edo.cjis.gov/#/
Step 2:
Book an appointment with Syndicate Forensics and record your fingerprints on FD 258 card.
Step 3:
Sent the application form, payment details and original fingerprint card to the mentioned address: FBI CJIS Division – Summary Request, 1000 Custer Hollow Road, Clarksburg, WV 26306
Step 4:
Upon verification, police clearance certificate will be sent to mailing address.
2. Canada (RCMP)
Step 1:
Book an appointment with Syndicate Forensics for Fingerprinting service.
Step 2:
Record your fingerprints with the help of our Fingerprinting expert.
Step 3:
Covert inked fingerprint into digital fingerprints with accredited company located in Canada.
Step 4:
It will take 3-4 working days to get the result and Federal processing fees is CDN$25.
Step 5:
Result will be mailed to the mailing address mentioned in the application form.
3. Singapore
Step 1:
Apply online for E-appeal which can take couple of days. The website page clearly mentions list of documents required for E-appeal
Step 2:
For Singapore citizen applicants: Login to SINGPASS and complete the application
For non-Singapore citizen applicants:
- Residing in Singapore: Book an appointment to record your fingerprints at Police Cantonment Complex
- Residing overseas: Record your fingerprints from Syndicate forensics on the card received in confirmation email. Complete the application and payment for CoC. Upon payment you will receive an e-receipt for the payment.
Step 3:
Send the CoC application and the fingerprinted card to ‘Certificate of Clearance Office, Block D, #02-07/08 Police Cantonment Complex, 391, New Bridge Road, Singapore 088762’
Step 4:
Once the verification of fingerprints get completed, CoC will be mailed to your address mentioned in the application form. Generally it takes five working days excluding courier time.
4. South Africa
Step 1:
Application form: Fill up the application form downloaded from the website – https://www.saps.gov.za/services/applying_clearence_certificate.php
Step 2:
For South Africa residents: Record your fingerprints on SAP91(a) with the help of South African Police Services
For residing Overseas: Record your fingerprints on SAP 91 (a) card with the help of Syndicate Forensics.
Step 3:
Online payment: Complete a payment of R160 and obtain the e-receipt
Step 4:
Send the complete application form, payment receipt, original cards to address mentioned below:

Step 5:
Upon completion of verification process, hard copy of Police clearance certificate will be sent to your address mentioned in the application form.
