Digital Evidence – Way to Uncover the Truth
Digital evidence is an evidence obtained from any of the electronic media such as laptop, desktop, mobile phones, Universal Serial Bus (USB). Digital evidence can play an important role in cases such as child pornography, tempering of audio/video files, social account hacking, corporate frauds etc.
To achieve admissibility in the court of law, it is mandatory to collect the digital evidence with the help of licensed software.
Key point to be noted is that, private organizations cannot provide forensic analysis report for any digital evidence under section 79A of Information Technology Act. In order to provide the analysis report, we need court order stating our organization has been excluded from the Section 79A of IT Act, and ordered to provide legal forensic report under Section 65B of Indian Evidence Act or Court can appoint our organization / expert as “Court appointed commissioner”.
In above case only we can provide legal analysis report.
For your personal use, we can provide a personal report for digital evidence such as authenticity of audio/video files, image authentication, and E-mail tracing. Please note that personal opinion is preliminary examination of provided digital evidence. You cannot take any legal action or you cannot make any legal claims.
